The clip you came for, the link you came to claim — and the small print that explains the rest.

4-MIN SETUPNO CARD TO STARTSTRIPE-NATIVECANCEL ANY DAY
/ 01GETTING STARTED
  1. How long does it take to claim my link and start taking bookings?

Most operators are live in under four minutes. Pick your handle, connect Stripe in one screen, drop your menu, send the link. The booking page is live the moment your first service is saved.

  2. Do I need a credit card to claim my link?

No card required to start. Fourteen days, every Pro feature unlocked, nothing to enter. We only ask for a card on day fifteen — cancel before then and you owe nothing.

  3. Can I import clients from another platform?

Not via bulk import yet. Your client list builds itself as people book — text your regulars the link once and they're in your app the next time they tap it. CSV import is on the roadmap.

  4. What if I'm already booking on another platform?

Set up your menu, swap the link in your bio, you're taking bookings. Run both for a week if you want — no lock-in on our end, no exit fee on the way out.

/ 02MONEY & PAYOUTS
  1. When does the money hit my bank?

Eligible Stripe accounts get same-day payouts. Standard timelines apply otherwise — usually one to two business days. You set the schedule in Stripe: daily, weekly, or monthly.

  2. What can clients pay with?

Online when they book: card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay — whichever shows up on their device. If you collect in person instead, they settle when they show — cash, Tap to Pay on your phone, or a paired Stripe card reader, whatever your shop accepts.

  3. What does BookAClip charge per booking?

On Pro, zero. No per-booking fee, no house cut — just the subscription. On Starter, a flat 1% on the transaction. No marketing upcharge, no premium placement, no asterisks. Full breakdown in the pricing section on our home page.

  4. What about Stripe processing fees?

Stripe processes every card charge — about 2.9% + $0.30 online (card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay all bill the same), around 2.6% for in-person Tap to Pay. That's Stripe's cut, paid to Stripe — the same rate you'd see on any Stripe-powered checkout. Cash skips it entirely. We don't add to any of it and we don't take a piece of it.

  5. Do clients pay when they book, or when they show up?

Your call — it's one setting for your whole book. Default is pay-at-booking: clients pay when they reserve, which locks the slot and kills no-shows. Switch to pay-in-person and clients reserve with no card, then settle when they show. Flip it anytime in settings.

  6. Can I split revenue with the shop owner?

Pro supports per-operator Stripe payouts with commission or booth-rent splits — up to 12 operators under one shop. Owner sees the dashboard, each barber gets paid directly.

/ 03RUNNING YOUR CHAIR
  1. Does my client need to download an app to book?

Never. They tap your link, pick a service, pick a slot, pay. The booking page works on any phone browser — no account, no password, no app store.

  2. Can I block off my lunch or a personal appointment?

Yes. Set your weekly availability once, then override specific days when life happens. The booking page only shows clients what's actually open.

  3. Can I take card payments in person too?

Yes. Tap to Pay runs right inside the mobile app (Stripe Terminal under the hood) — no external reader, no extra hardware. Tip prompt before charging if you take tips.

  4. What if a client no-shows?

If you take payment at booking (the default), you already have the money — the chair time is paid whether they walk in or not. If you collect in person, you handle no-shows the way you always have. Most chairs leave pay-at-booking on for exactly this reason.
